day eighteen!
Smile for Kelly!
Ah... the dental office.
A place of rubber gloves, pictures of teeth... and now, selfies.
My mom works as a dental hygienist at a practice not far from our home. Growing up, my family and I would always come in together to get our cleanings done, which allowed us to form a bond with the staff. It's always such a joy to walk out of there with my pearly whites, smiling at the world with my fresh teeth. This visit, however, was very different than any other.
Today, I got my first fillings done.
I was extremely, extremely nervous. Lisa, the woman in the bottom right hand corner, has been working with my dentist for twenty-nine years, so I knew I was in good hands. Also, she is so fun and loving-- I've known her since I was very, very young. Her daughter, however, I did not know! We had met when we were maybe seven or eight years old at an office party, but we had never really talked or gotten to know each other a bit more. We did the regular small-talk, and then finally ended up joking around about how nervous I was.. I mean, this is a completely normal procedure for someone to have, yet I was freaking out! A midst all of the commotion, I learned that she is interested in going to Ohio State!
For anyone who cares, the procedure went great.. um hello much less painful than getting braces done. And I was in and out of there in about forty-five minutes.Looking back, we should have taken the picture together before half of my face became paralyzed, but we decided to go with the flow and take a picture with my X-rays ;)
Thanks for everything, ladies!
And thank you, reader... for reading :D
Now go smile at somebody... because I currently cannot (haha)
Until tomorrow
